Questions people actually ask
Mostly: is it safe, does my team have to pay, and will it run on my machine. Short answers: yes, no, and only if that machine runs Windows.
Frequently asked questions
Is this made by Facepunch?
No. RustPocket is an independent companion for Rust+ players. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facepunch Studios.
Can I get banned for using it?
It reads the official Rust+ companion API, which is the same interface the Facepunch phone app uses. It does not inject into the game, read its memory, or touch the client in any way. It is a separate program that talks to the server the way Rust+ was designed to be talked to.
Does my whole team need to subscribe?
No. One person runs it. The bot answers in team chat with commands like pop, time, events and scan, and map notes sync through Rust+ chat, so the group gets the benefit either way.
Is there a free tier?
No. There is one plan with everything in it. A free tier would mean holding modules back to have something to sell, and the whole argument for this app is that nothing is held back.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from the Stripe billing portal. It runs to the end of the period you already paid for, and then it stops.
Will it run on macOS or Linux?
No. RustPocket is a Windows desktop program, 10 or 11, 64-bit. It does not run in a browser, and any site offering it as a phone app for PC is not us.
How is this different from the Rust+ phone app?
The phone app is built for a phone, so it shows you one thing at a time. This is built for a monitor, so it holds the map, the vending scan, your smart switches and the event feed at once. It also stays connected: it reconnects on its own, refreshes stale data, and keeps the PC awake while it runs.
What happens when the server drops?
It reconnects on its own, refreshes data that went stale during a long silence, and keeps the PC awake while it is connected. It is built to sit running for days.
Do I have to set it up again every wipe?
No. R2 keeps a registry of your servers, so you switch between your main wipe, a staging server and a friend's server without redoing anything.
